Synopsis:
The captivating tale of Jazz legend Billie Holliday comes to life onstage in the haunting and humorous musical drama Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill by Lanie Robertson. In one of her last appearances, Billie provides a glimpse of her life through her own eyes, in her own words and through seventeen unforgettable songs in her uniquely famous voice. The upbeat performances are joyous (or melancholy, if need be), as singing was Billie’s salvation. Lady Day comes to life onstage in a show rich in historical fact, phenomenal music and cultural realism.
